Drum kit

A drum set (also called a drum kit) is a collection of percussion instruments arranged so one person can play them together. It’s commonly used in genres like rock, jazz, pop, and many others.

A standard drum set typically includes:

Bass drum (kick drum): The large drum on the floor, played with a foot pedal.

Snare drum: Produces a sharp, crisp sound, often used for backbeats.

Tom-toms (toms): Medium-sized drums with deeper tones, used for fills.

Hi-hat: Two cymbals mounted together, played with a foot pedal and/or sticks.

Crash cymbal: Used for accents and loud hits.

Ride cymbal: Provides a steady rhythmic pattern.

Drummers use drumsticks, brushes, or mallets to play the kit, combining rhythm and dynamics to support or lead the music.
