Dear my grandson,
Today I sat by the window with my tea and found myself thinking about you again. I do that more often than you might guess. Time has a funny way of stretching when youâre olderâsome days feel slow, but the years slip by quicker than I ever expected.
I remember when your hands were small enough to fit entirely in mine. You used to ask endless questionsâwhy the sky changes color, why birds donât fall, why people cry when theyâre happy. I hope you never lose that curiosity. It is one of your brightest gifts.
Life wonât always feel simple for you. There will be days when things donât go your way, when people disappoint you, or when you feel unsure of yourself. In those moments, I hope you remember this: you are not required to be perfect to be worthy. You are already enough, just as you are.
Be kind, especially when itâs difficult. Not because the world always deserves it, but because you deserve the peace that kindness brings. Work hard, but donât forget to rest. Chase your dreams, but also notice the small, ordinary joysâwarm bread, late sunlight, laughter that makes your stomach hurt.
And if you ever feel lost, come back to what is simple: your values, your heart, the people who truly care for you. I will always be one of them, no matter how far you go or how much time passes.
I am proud of youânot only for what you achieve, but for who you are becoming.
With all my love,
Grandma
If you want, I can make it more emotional, more humorous, or turn it into a series of journal entries over time.
